Madison and Friends

Description

Gold Coast — Madison and Friends was started in 1996 by David and Wendi so they could dress their newborn daughter, Madison, in “hip” clothes. The store opened at the corner of Oak Street and Rush Street in Chicago. After outgrowing the first store, David and Wendi moved the store around the corner to 940 N. Rush Street in 2002.

It was at this location that the first Denim Lounge opened in the basement of Madison and Friends with over 20 brands of denim along with cool tops and hats for men, women and kids. Recently, the store on Rush Street was closed to make way for a new building and the stores have moved back to Oak Street. Madison and Friends and The Denim Lounge are now located on two levels at 43 East Oak Street.

Madison and Friends in Deerfield, 720 N. Waukegan Road, opened in 2004 and a 2nd Denim Lounge location, 2004 West Roscoe, opened in Roscoe Village in Chicago in 2005. This store is David’s dream store featuring three large plasma televisions, lounge seating, and a 100 gallon salt water fish tank.

The newest store, Madison and Friends TWEEN opened in 2007 at the corner of Halsted Street and Armitage Avenue in Chicago. This store caters to our customers who are getting older and need a more sophisticated environment in which to shop.
