Biography

Wicker Park — Luz Maria Diaz, proprietor and artistic director of Lu-Dia Couture Designs, graduated from the Windy City’s own International Academy of Merchandising and Design with a B.A. in fashion design. Ms. Diaz is well known for her distinctive integration of African, Native American and Latin cultures, enhancing their finest qualities and uniting them effortlessly into her own unique brand of panache. She honors these three great, richly diverse cultures by masterfully blending their lush colors, fabrics and natural materials indigenous to their native lands into garments of superlative quality. Ms. Diaz not only takes particular care in choosing the perfect bead, bone or gem that best accent her creation, she effortlessly marries sophistication with sensual fantasy. These exclusive designs are not for everyone. Her magnificent creations are designed more toward the individual whose desire it is to make an unparalleled statement! While Ms. Diaz fulfills this passion to design avant-garde clothing, her talents are not limited to these exclusive designs. Lu-Dia Couture Designs offers a wide range of military inspired coats and tailored wool suits. Her ever evolving line of designs include sumptuous velvet gowns, full taffeta skirts and elegant silk dresses.
