Melissa Serpico Kamhout graduated from Loyola University Chicago where she majored in Visual Communications and went on to be a graphic designer. Not finding graphic design challenging enough and missing her true calling: fashion, she went on to study fashion design at the The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Upon graduating from the The Art Institute she started her own clothing line: SERPICO in 2006. SERPICO is a very modern clothing line that is both intelligent and well made. Melissa’s inspirations come from anywhere and everywhere including her experience in graphic design, the time she’s spent abroad as well as her love for both modern art and architecture.
Melissa believes her pieces will be in a women’s wardrobe for years to come. SERPICO garments engage the wearer with its interesting textures and silhouettes. It is her hope that when a woman falls in love with the garments she can wear them with many, many different outfits for years to come.
A woman who wears SERPICO is a woman of any age. She is strong, passionate and wants much out of life. She is also a woman who notices the small intricate details that make our world beautiful and is always looking to the future.
