Wicker Park — tonya gross is an aspiring couture headwear designer- aka milliner- based in chicago, il.

tg’s love of hats began at an early age in the wilds of northern michigan. she amuses her friends with stories of REALLY odd hats she found at thrift and department stores in the early 80’s to wear over her aquanet-superhold-unscented-robert-smith-inspired hair sculptures. several fantastic haircuts later and unsatiated in her search to find the creative accoutrement she longed for, tg left her ho-hum financial services career in mid-2005 to start making what she couldn’t find in stores (and to offer to you): handcrafted, quality, affordable (and sexy) headwear.

aspiring to be couture but not the ascot-y, derby-ish feather-flailing ones, tg strives for great textures, odd color combinations and interesting shapes… utilizing quality traditional millinery materials, vintage fabrics and accoutrement- sassy stuff- with an occasional feather.
