Biography

Wicker Park — My mother inspired me because she was a designer. As a child I would always take her trim and leftover fabric and design earrings out of them. I began studying fashion design at the Illinois Institute of Art and brought that draping to my accessories, which are my true passion. Agga B. featured my Drapes in Timeout Chicago’s 08 fashion issue and I haven’t stopped since. I also just became a part of “the Program” sponsored by AIBI

DRAPES Philosophy:

An accessory should be the pivotal piece in an ensemble.

An accessory should be able to stand alone yet complement the rest of an ensemble.

An accessory should create the mood and directly reflect the inner most expressions of its wearer.

An accessory should bring about feelings of joy, confidence, and victory.

No accessory should be meek or expected.
These rules encompass what DRAPES means to Ashley S. and what owning a pair of DRAPES will mean to you. These pieces of iconography are statements in their own right. Each design is influenced by modern, contemporary, and historical fine art. Each collection of DRAPES encompasses the ever changing tends of fashion. Setting standards for the fashion industry and the trend of the moment. Drapes are dramatic pieces of ear-wear that you can easily use to make a bold statement or add that extra oomph to any ensemble.
Since each pair is carefully designed and made with great precision by hand, each design is made in limited quantities. Owning a pair, or three, of these luxurious pieces is a joy because they aren’t mere earrings; they’re ART, created for the one of the greatest pleasures, wearing high fashion.
