Incubator Curriculum

The Chicago Fashion Incubator at Macy’s on State Street (CFI) provides a select group of Chicago-based designers with the resources, workspace, curriculum, and mentoring to launch their careers in fashion. The CFI curriculum is spread over the year long residency and is comprised of a number of workshops, round table discussions, and mentorships. These tools help to create the business foundation necessary to succeed in the apparel industry.

The Curriculum Advisory Board examines the goals and objectives of the Designers in Residence at the beginning of the year and then creates a schedule based upon their needs. We are so grateful to all of the wonderful advisors who have donated their time and knowledge on topics that include business planning, marketing, merchandising, product development, costing, accounting, production management, buyer’s packets/presentations, branding, and much more.
