Pilsen

The Pilsen neighborhood, immediately to the west, is the heart and soul of Chicago’s large and energetic Mexican-American community. Some of the best Mexican restaurants outside of Mexico may be found on 18th Street, Pilsen’s main commercial thoroughfare.

The revitalization of the Pilsen neighborhood began in the 1960’s and is still continuing to this day! Along with the vibrant Mexican culture, there are several blocks of live and work space for artists, galleries and other creative retailers, and exhibition space for special events and performances.
